Further to recent studies showing that there may be a shortage of office space in Manchester for 2012, a recent report from Insider Magazine has stated otherwise.
In a recent interview with Insider Magazine, Rupert Barron of Colliers International in Manchester (commercial office agents) has stated that "the Manchester office market is better stocked than most agents say". He goes on to say "While our research highlights the forthcoming shortage of Grade A (office) space, there are opportunities for occupiers and landlords particularly if they are innovative in their approach to space use and funding"

"Rupert Barron, director of office agency at Colliers International in Manchester, has declared that research commissioned by Colliers shows that the Manchester office market is better stocked than most agents say.
Barron said that compared with rival cities, Manchester's supply and prospects for filling that space are relatively good: "While our research highlights the forthcoming shortage of grade A space there are opportunities for occupiers and landlords particularly if they are innovative in their approach to space use and funding.
"In the short term the focus will be on recycling buildings and providing ‘ready to go' schemes that can be rapidly delivered with funding in place subject securing an occupier for a minimum part.
"A number of active requirements in the market for both existing and pre-lets are helping to maintain confidence and momentum which will attract the attention from the funding fraternity."
The report highlights available space at recently completed buildings.
Barron concluded: "Overall, Manchester is in better health than many regional cities and is in position to move forward as the economy recovers over the next few years. I would not be surprised to see the start of a speculative development shortly.""
