Magnus Ltd has Pre-Let 60% of the Ropewalks

Magnus Ltd has pre-let 60% of the Ropewalks its latest office development in Macclesfield town centre.
Construction of the £8m Ropewalks is well underway and this impressive landmark building on Bond Street is integrating a former historic mill along with adding a new build element to create 33,350 sq ft of quality grade A business accommodation on lower, ground and three upper floors.
Cheshire Peaks and Plains Housing Trust has taken 19,000 sq ft on the ground, second and third floors on a 15 year lease.
Tim Pinder, Chief Executive of Cheshire Peaks and Plains said "We have chosen this high quality building to reflect the quality standards we aim to achieve in our services to customers and in the improvements we make to tenants' homes. Its combination of old heritage with contemporary addition also reflects the Trust's forward-looking approach, rooted in solid traditions. The central location will be much more convenient for our customer base, and we have had very positive feedback on the choice of site from our tenant panel. It will also provide a good standard of professional working environment for our staff. We look forward to moving into Ropewalks later this year.
Edward Lockyer, Estates Director of Cheshire based property investment and development company Magnus said: "To have let over half the building at this stage of construction fully justifies our decision to build our second speculative development within the town. We are seeing more and more that occupiers understand the benefits of being located within the town centre where employees have easy access to Macclesfield's excellent public transport infrastructure and wealth of retail and leisure facilities. We have received a great deal of interest from both local, regional and national occupiers and are confident of letting the remainder of the building in the near future.
Bordering the Christchurch Conservation Area Ropewalks is the only office development currently under construction in the town centre. It has been designed by award winning architects Building Design Partnership (BDP) and blends an eclectic mix of old and new materials, which will suit those companies looking for a distinctive base with style and elegance. The offices are being finished to the highest specification with a striking fully glazed atrium entrance together with private car parking. Suites are available from 3500 sq ft to 14,500 sq ft.
"Macclesfield has long been a popular and affluent Cheshire town but development of business space has until now largely taken place on its outskirts. The proposed redevelopment of the town centre, which is now progressing with the chosen developer will give the town a major facelift and further enhance its desirability as an office location" said Edward Lockyer.
