BRUNEL ANNOUCE THEY HAVE ARRIVED

29th Nov 2011

Brunel, the Dutch technical recruitment services giant, is looking to make its mark in Manchester after opening an office in the city in October.
It is amid an initial recruitment drive that will create 30 jobs, while it says it hopes to employ 70 to 80 people in the city by 2015.
General manager Ken Meaney told Insider: "It's a natural move for Brunel. Manchester is a recognised centre for technical services excellence - in many ways, it's the birthplace of chemical engineering and it remains a hotbed of technical recruitment. Most of the top class oil and gas recruitment businesses were born in Manchester and remain essentially Manchester businesses."
Brunel is based in Magnus' 19 Spring Gardens office in the city centre, where it has invested more than £200,000 in a fit-out where two Manchester-based companies combined - Overbury being the contractor and Steelcase the designer and supplier.
The office will act as a global portal for top executives - where other Brunel offices service specific local markets the Manchester office will handle up to 3,000 ex-pat British workers a year, who are generally in huge demand to project manage jobs all over the world.
Meaney continued: "It's a different approach. We've got a client visiting from Australia who's really excited about this, because it will act as a one-stop shop for him - he won't need to deal with 30 offices around the world, but come straight to us."
