On Saturday the 30th June, more than 600 people took part in the East Cheshire Hospice Midnight Walk, a 10k walk around Macclesfield town centre via Gawsworth.
The walk began at Macclesfield Leisure Centre where walkers were entertained by "Dazed and Confused” and Canalside Radio. There was plenty to keep people occupied before the walk began, including face painting and a fancy dress competition, won by a pair of brilliant looking clowns!
My sunflower kindly painted by the volunteer face painters on the night.
Ben Amos, goal keeper at Manchester United FC cut the ribbon to start this years walk. A few of us from Magnus did the midnight walk, and Heather, Carol and I managed a time of 1hr 50mins (20 mins faster than last year)
The East Cheshire Hospice receives less than 23% of its costs from the government and so has to fundraise almost £6,000 every single day of the year simply to keep going.
