How offices are configured in the future is up for debate. No one is predicting the demise of the workplace but your typical office it is expected to radically change in the next 20 years.

The move from cellular offices to open plan increased significantly during the 1990's, just like the use of communal space is set to increase in the future. Informal break-out areas are on the increase, with occupiers moving away from a typical office layout, with break-out and communal areas set to take up approximately 70% of an occupier's accommodation.

Office space and how we use it more effectively is evolving all the time, with changes in technology and how people interact with colleagues being a major factor. It will be about colleagues, co-workers and clients interacting in these spaces rather than just sitting a workstation.
